Play Off 1. The group where the best of the best will face each other in Belgium and I can’t help but think there’s a slight disadvantage on this Easter Sunday.
Anderlecht who played a hard fought match on Thursday have a fixture just 3 days later. But why? Why have they? The only explanation must be because they play on this coming Thursday. The negative for Les Mauves is that they could show fatigue with an away match at Oostende this Sunday and not get a positive result and STILL go out of Europe before going into next week. However, with that, Oostende would love to take advantage. A solid outfit with quality up top, if Oostende hit the right notes, Anderlecht could well be in trouble, especially if Weiler rings the changes?
With that being the only PO1 fixture this weekend, we spill over to Monday, with these 4 hoping to capitalise on the fact Anderlecht have this congested fixture list, starting with the early afternoon match where Club Brugge will know what to do by that point. Nothing less than a win will do really and the champions need 3 points regardless of Sunday’s action. Zulte in my opinion can play with no fear and put in a performance themselves, knowing they’re definitely in Europe next season and would hope to get maximum points out of professionalism and for their fans!
Finally, we round off the bank holiday with Gent travelling to Charleroi. Gent have been decent this far with Charleroi able to grab a win regardless of who the opposition are. I’m sure this will be an entertaining early evening match where Gent will strive to claim all the points, whereas Charleroi will look to upset that party and put on a fine display themselves.
Three great matches hoping to live up to the 6 matches already played and with that, hopefully someone will take advantage somewhere rather than the safe game like last weekend with 3 draws out of 3…
